FAQ's

Are The Dog Walkers Club fully insured?

The Dog Walkers Club have full, specialist insurance to ensure everything that needs to be covered, is covered. And in all the 20+ years of working with dogs, no claim has had to be made.

How Do You Transport The Dogs?

At The Dog Walkers Club we do not use crates in vans. While we know some dog walkers have vans with crates, our clients have dogs for whom this isn’t suitable for them. That could be due to slight car sickness, not being used to crates which causes distress, or simply the fact their dog enjoys a car ride and seeing where they’re going! Dogs are transported safely according to all current legal requirements. Client dogs must have a safe, well fitting harness for transportation.

What Approach Do You Have With The Dogs?

With decades of experience working with groups of dogs, and always keeping up to date with the latest kind, reward based approaches, Helen has acquired a breadth of behavioural knowledge. Helen has worked alongside several trainers and behaviourists over the years and has a passion for understanding life from the dog’s perspective, how they communicate, and working with clients to have a better relationship with their dogs. When working with groups of dogs, Helen is able to identify and inform her clients of concerns or misconceptions about their dog’s behaviour, giving advice and help when asked.

Where Do You Walk The Dogs?

Safe, secure Paddock Sessions and Woodland Walks are available. Paddock Sessions are for all dogs new to the Club; just as you wouldn’t let a dog new to your home off lead, neither will we. Paddock walks mean your dogs can be off lead, play safely with other sociable dogs, without the worry of horses, cycles, reactive dogs or anything else your dog may struggle with. Paddock sessions are limited to 6 dogs per human as a maximum. Woodland walks are limited to 4 dogs per human as a maximum. These are only suitable for dogs who’s recall is excellent, who will come with the pack regardless of distractions, and for owners who don’t mind their dog getting a little more grubby on a walk! Dogs do tend to ‘follow the pack’ however, we need to assess your dog to ensure they will do this reliably. We will invite your dog to woodland sessions when we feel they will be able to enjoy it without stress. Our policy is strict on this for both your dog’s safety and ours, but primarily for the respect of other members of the public using those spaces.
